ABOUT

I’m Bhamini, founder of Green Leaf Teahouse, a family-run business based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, offering a premium selection of artisan and traditional loose-leaf teas sourced from boutique plantations across India, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Australia.
My love for tea began in childhood, growing up in India where tea was a daily ritual. But it wasn’t until my travels through Asia that I truly discovered the vast and nuanced world of tea. That journey sparked a deep curiosity — and a lifelong passion to explore, study, and share the cultural richness and sensory beauty of tea.
In 2018, I brought that dream to life with the launch of Green Leaf Teahouse. My mission was simple yet heartfelt: to preserve and celebrate tea culture by making high-quality, freshly harvested loose-leaf teas accessible to Australia’s multicultural community — starting locally, with a vision to grow globally.
Australia’s coffee culture often overshadows the traditions of tea-drinking communities, and I felt called to offer an alternative — one rooted in authenticity, wellness, and connection. Through Green Leaf Teahouse, I aim to create a “home away from home” experience, where every cup tells a story and every blend invites a moment of pause.
It’s been an honour to serve as the Gold Coast Tea Ambassador for the Australian Tea Cultural Society (AUSTCS), co-organizing the 2019 seminar in Tasmania and the virtual events in 2020 and 2021. These collaborations have opened doors to connect with tea lovers, businesses, and cultural events across Australia — from Brisbane BrewIn and the Laneway Tea Festival to Ayurveda-inspired high teas and features in Tea Lovers Journal.
Whether I’m sharing tea at a local market, hosting a workshop, or connecting online, it brings me joy to see how tea continues to unite people across cultures and generations. I’d love to hear your tea story — and invite you to raise your cup with me as we celebrate tradition, wellness, and community through the offerings of Green Leaf Teahouse.
